"A Faith Journey of a People -

Dakota and Christianity"

This is a six part documentary series looking at the history of the Dakota Presbytery beginning with the arrival of Rev. Thomas Williamson MD and his missionary team in 1835 on the lake shore of Lac Qui Parle in what is now Western Minnesota.  For Rev. Williamson, his wife, several other family members, and Rev. Stephen Riggs and his wife, this became a life long ministry to the Dakota.  Since that time each generation of native and non native missionaries, ministers, and Dakota Christians have experienced various challenges in the growth of their faith in Jesus Christ.

Part 1, "Introductory Overview",  is an overview of the history from 1835 to today.
The remaining 5 parts, "The Beginning 1835", "Point of Transformation, 1862 - 1866",
"Age of Growth, 1868 - 1900", "Established Faith, 20th Century",
& "Today's Challenges",

examine five different time periods relating to the growth of Christianity within the Dakota culture.

Parts 1 & 2 are now complete and available for purchase.

We are currently in post production on part 3.
